Description
The never-distributed second issue of the first comic book written, drawn, and published entirely by Black creators. Fewer than a handful of proof copies are recorded.
Historical context
After the first issue sold out, newsprint suppliers refused to sell to publisher Orrin C. Evans. Issue No. 2 was set and proofed but never reached newsstands, making surviving copies the physical evidence of an industry-level act of exclusion.
