Acceptance of terms

By accessing auctions.blackgrail.com or participating in any sale, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Black Grail Auctions operates as part of the Black Grail ecosystem.

Auction participation

Bidding requires registration. All bids are binding and may not be retracted. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer at the close of a lot is the purchaser, subject to any reserve. Black Grail reserves the right to refuse or revoke bidding registration at its discretion.

A buyer's premium of 20% is added to the hammer price of each lot, plus applicable taxes. Shipping and insurance are quoted separately per lot.

Descriptions and condition

Every lot is researched and catalogued with care, and carries a Grail Score reflecting rarity, provenance, and cultural significance. Condition reports are available on request. All objects are sold as described in the catalogue; absence of a stated defect is not a guarantee of perfect condition. Buyers are encouraged to review condition reports before bidding.

Market purchases and offers

Market items are offered at fixed price, and eligible items accept offers. Submitting an offer does not create an agreement until the offer is accepted and payment is completed. Prices include applicable taxes; shipping is quoted at checkout.

Consignments

Consigning an object to Black Grail is governed by a separate consignment agreement. Submission through this site begins the review process only; a submission is not a commitment to accept an item.

Prototype notice

This site is currently operating as a prototype. Bids, offers, purchases, consignments, and accounts are demonstrations and no transactions are processed. These terms will be updated and enforced in full when the platform launches.

Intellectual property

Catalogue text, photography, the Grail Score, and the Black Grail name and marks are the property of Black Grail and may not be reproduced without permission.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
